For The Record...
The movie was AWESOME!
I will admit that I am perhaps the tiniest bit biased because the holes are easily filled because I knew what was missing.
...and maybe because I am in love with Edward and they could have had a she-goat playing the part and I would have been okay with it.
Thank GOD they had Robert Pattinson. There are some shots of him that are almost painful to look at because he can be so achingly perfect. That profile is beyond romantic novel proportions. Seriously. How can I get one of him? (However, I am not blind and have admitted that he reminds me of Joaquin Phoenix...)
Since I'm still AWOL at the USO. I decided to do a Top Ten of things I noticed during the movie (let's not talk about how many times I went to see it this weekend...and I'm going again EVEN if I have to go ALONE
10. Bella has a lazy eye. I'm sorry. It bothered the shit out of me. Just slight and possibly not even lazy...just off center...a bit.
9. Edward's shiny skin wasn't what I expected. I will admit that that part of the book kinda creeped me out and in my mind I had seen him with rays of golden sun bouncing off of him and blinding poor Bella. The movie interpretation was way better.
8. The number of adult women attending the show was a relief. Seriously.
7. I was the only one to let out a whoop the first time I saw Edward. It was retarded. Like I didn't know what he was going to look like or something.
6. There are some surprisingly funny parts that I adored. The best is when Bella visits The Cullens. Hilarious.
5. My favorite part is the baseball scene. It's the music and "Edward is very fast"
4. I have told everyone I know that has an inkling of interest in seeing the flick that Edward comes off as kinda creepy weird at times because of the blank stare thing. I know he's fighting the attraction thing but if someone continued to give me that look, I'd have to go WTF on them.
3. There are times when Edward's words seem odd to me. Like RP was struggling with the American accent. Not that I minded...I would have loved even more to listen to his charming British accent for 2 hours. Sigh.
2. Jasper's 'pain' look is HILARIOUS. Every time he is on-screen I wanted to die laughing.
1. The best Edward moment is when he is inviting Bella over to meet his family. He seems so charmingly perfect I want to marry him and have vampire babies. Of course, I'm also perfectly okay with having RP's babies as well.
It's officially my Titanic. I will see it as many times as I can find someone to go with me. It's the love story that does it. 27 Dresses and Pride and Prejudice at home. Twilight in the theatre. I'm a romantic sap.
Side Note: Two things that didn't make the top ten. 1. You can see the outline of RP's contacts (black and amber) in several shots, which I found irritating. Can't they photoshop that shit out or something? 2. 'Gator picked up on one or two things that will probably make moviemistakes.com - GOOD EYE!!!
